Caesar: Life of a Colossus (Adrian Goldsworthy). A specific book: "Caesar: Life of a Colossus" by Adrian Goldsworthy. Adrian Goldsworthy's Caesar: The Life of a Colossus is a superb modern biography of a man most us know only as a Shakespearean villain/victim. I recently finished reading the subway-friendly paperback version of Adrian Goldsworthy's Caesar: Life of A Colossus. The Last Generation of the Roman Republic (Erich Gruen). Adrian Goldworthy has written a spectacular biography of Caius Iulius Cæsar. Remarkable politician and military genius. This is a shame, because Caesar's life is remarkably well documented. The man who virtually defined the West's concept of leadership comes alive in this splendid biography. Caius Julius Caeser is a real colossus. Probably, he is the most famous figure of the ancient history. He claims that we have no source and thinks dark hair being likely. Available in big thick paperback (it's a massive book) and also Kindle. The Roman Revolution (Ronald Syme). Lots of activity ensues, frantically setting up for the opening of registration area that night. I listened to CAESAR: LIFE OF A COLOSSUS on the ride up. Only thing I remember about Cæsars hair is from british biography - Caesar: Life of a Colossus - written by Adrian Goldsworthy.
